4x50 yard T-Shirt Swap Relay (fun category)
Four swimmers each swim 50 yards using the same XL T-Shirt as a baton. Swimmer one starts on the starting block wearing the XL t-shirt, swims 50 yards, and then exits the pool. Any members of the team can assist in the transfer of the t-shirt from the first swimmer to the second, who repeats the process. Time stops when the forth and final swimmer touches the wall. 

4x25 kick relay (fun category)
Two swimmers at starting block side of pool, two swimmers start on the far side of the lane, ​each with one kick board. The first swimmer starts in the water and swims 25 yards with their kick board. After touching the wall, they give their kick board to the second swimmer, who then swims their 25 with 2 kick boards. The third swimmer has three kick boards, and the final swimmer finishes the race with 4 kick boards. 

4x25 pool mattress relay (fun category)

Two swimmers at starting block side of pool, two swimmers start on the far side of the lane. First swimmer starts in the water with one of these pool mattresses touching the wall of the pool. First swimmer pulls him or herself on to the mattress until their entire swimsuit is on the mattress. No part of the swimmer's swimsuit may touch the pool directly during their leg of the race; it MUST be ON the mattress. The second swimmer, waiting in the water at the far side, takes possession of the mattress for the return trip in the same manner as the first after the mattress touches the far side wall. The race ends when the pool mattresses touches the wall after all four swimmers have taken it 25 yards each. 

4x25 yard giant soccer ball scoot (fun category)

Two swimmers at starting block side of pool, two swimmers start on the far side of the lane. First swimmer starts in the water with one of these giant soccer balls touching the wall of the pool. First swimmer swims the giant soccer ball down their lane 25 yards. The second swimmer, waiting in the water at the far side, takes possession of the ball for the return trip  after the ball touches the far side wall. The race ends when the giant soccer ball touches the wall after all four swimmers have taken it 25 yards each. 

4x50 yard Medley Relay (back, breast, butter, free)

The first swimmer starts in the water in backstroke position for a 50 yard backstroke. Swimmers 2 through 4 complete their respective strokes from the block once the previous swimmer touches the wall. 

​4x100 yard IM 

IM events begin with a forward-facing dive. During each portion of the event, swimmers must swim the strokes legally. For example, swimmers must finish the butterfly and breaststroke laps with two-hand-touches and finish the backstroke lap on their backs. They must also swim the strokes in this order: butterfly, backstroke, breastroke, freestyle. (source). Once the first IM swimmer touches the wall after their freestyle lap, the next swimmer may begin their leg of the race. 

​4x50 yard freestyle relay

Starting from the block, each swimmer completes a 50 yard freestyle swim.​ 

​4x50 yard butterfly relay

Butterfly races begin with a forward-facing dive, and swimmers must finish each lap by touching the wall with two hands simultaneously, on the same horizontal plane. At the beginning of each lap, swimmers will do underwater dolphin kicks, but must break the surface of the water with their head at or before 15 meters. Swimmers will do open turns, not flip turns. ​4x100 yard freestyle relay

Starting from the block, each swimmer completes a 100 yard freestyle swim.​ 

​4x50 yard backstroke relay

The first swimmer will start in the water in backstroke position. Subsequent swimmers will start on the block and immediately switch into backstroke position upon entry into the water. 

​4x50 yard breaststroke relay

Breaststroke races begin with a forward-facing dive from either the edge of the pool or the starting block. At the beginning of each lap, swimmers may do one pull-down: one huge pull, in which the hands sweep down to the thighs, and one giant kick to the surface. On the first stroke after the pull-down, a swimmer’s head must break the surface of the water. Today’s swimmers are also allowed to do one dolphin/butterfly kick in the first part of the pull-down, before the first breaststroke kick. At the end of each lap of a breaststroke race, swimmers must touch with two hands, simultaneously and on the same horizontal plane. Swimmers will use open turns, not flip turns. (source)

This seven swimmer relay goes through all events at the standard middle school swim meet, in order. Relays are skipped.
